The game is deceptively simple. Axis (Germans and Japanese) versus Allies (Americans, British and Russians) fighting for territory and control points in Africa, the South Pacific and Europe. At first glance, it might be easy to confuse Battlefield: 1942 with any number of action games. Like Medal of Honor and Return to Castle Wolfenstein, it's a first-person shooter set during WWII.
